Darwin’s orchid flowering again

It’s that time of year: Darwin’s orchid (Angraecum sesquipedale) — aka Christmas orchid, Star of Bethlehem orchid — is blooming in the Conservatory.  Learn more about this fascinating plant and its connection with Charles Darwin. And if you look carefully in the background of the image below, you can see that a night-blooming cereus is also poised to bloom.

Stop by for a study break.  The Conservatory is open weekdays when Cornell is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Conservatory visitors must follow current Cornell policies for indoor masking and distancing. Please note that the Conservatory is closed December 24 through January 2.
