The Association of Education and Research Greenhouse Curators annual meeting was hosted on campus this week by the Cornell University Agricultural Experiment Station and the Boyce Thompson Institute. AERGC is a network of professionals involved with the management and operation of plant growth facilities at public and private universities, colleges, and research institutions that support education, research, and/or community outreach programs.
Monday afternoon, some of the more than 100 attendees stopped by the Liberty Hyde Bailey Conservatory to find out more about the new facility and the plant collection. CUAES greenhouse grower Paul Cooper displayed the 64-pound corm of ‘Wee Stinky’ (Cornell’s first titan arum to bloom) alongside its sibling ‘Carolus’, currently in its vegetative stage. More about Cornell’s titan arums.
